Bill's Band ACUITY
has now changed it's name to "TANGLED
WIRES" and they will be performing their
first gig at the Racehorse Pub Abington Square
Northampton on Saturday
28th February with new line up now including Tom on
base and some lead guitar. They will be taking the middle spot between
9pm and 10pm and "Coaches to Camden"
will be headlining.

Billy Lockett singer songwriter, 17 years old and front man for Northampton
band Acuity, has now made it through to the
Grand National final, in a bid to be crowned the UK’s Idol 2008.
You could be in the audience cheering him on and voting for him in the
competition.
Idol 2008 is the music and dance competition for singers, vocal groups
and now for dancers and dance groups to enter. 2007 was the competitions
third year, with over 10,000 applicants entering. This makes the competition
the largest talent contest outside a certain ITV show, searching for the
cream of the UK’s talent.
The competition offers singers and dancers the opportunity to perform
live in front of large audiences, that’s you, as well as the chance
to win up to £25,000 in prizes if crowned the UK’s Idol 2008.
The competition offers fantastic opportunities to develop performance
skills and personal ability and will give Billy the chance to perform
in front of his biggest audience yet.
Dane Bowers, who anchored the R&B quartet Another Level, and previous
Idol Judge comments; ‘This competition gives everyone a great opportunity
to show what they can really do.’ Fellow judge Chris Grayston, head
of A&R at Future Music, comments; ‘The competition gives talented
acts great opportunities and exposure as well as the opportunity to have
a single released with Future music and a UK tour’.
You have the chance to be in the audience, voting for Billy to win through
to the top. Billy’s new independent album will be out soon anyway,
but he is keen to carry on in this competition and perform to the audience
on the night. Billy says “I just want people to hear my music!”
Billy will be competing amongst other talented hopefuls at the Grand Final
show held at the Portsmouth Guildhall on the 29th November It promises
to be a great night with a fantastic line up of acts. Billy needs your
support and votes, so come along and cheer him on to success.
The Grand Final is the climax of the whole competition and will feature
the finest acts from the competition along with a fantastic line up of
celebrity guests performing, appearing and judging.
The Winners
The winners will be crowned Idol 2008 in front of a capacity crowd, including
many professionals from within the entertainment industry. They will be
thrust into the media spotlight through television, radio and the press.
In 2007 the Grand finals for both age categories were a 2,000 capacity
sell out, which included guests from recording agencies and the music
business, involving A&R from major record labels.
The winning prize to the winning contestant(s)
of the singing category of Idol 2008 for 18 and over age category is an
investment from the Company in conjunction with a recording contract and
single release with the aim to Nationally chart the single. The winning
prize to the winning contestant(s) of the Under 18’s category is
to record their own album. The winning prize to the winning contestant(s)
of the dance category of Idol 2008 for 18 and over age category is an
investment from the Company including working alongside the winners of
the singing category to be part of a UK tour and be involved with the
video release for the single. The winning prize to the winning contestant(s)
of the Under 18’s category is to have a master class from Kylie
Minogue’s dance choreographer, Tim Noble, with the opportunity to
record their own video. The winners will additionally have the opportunity
to tour across the UK.
